WHAT TO EXPECT AT WORSHIP

On any Sunday, you’ll find people at Holy Trinity of all ages from diverse backgrounds. Most are from West Laurel, but many come from Columbia, Odenton and Fort Meade.

We have no dress code or particular expectations about attire. Most folks dress casually. We’re simply delighted by all who come.

Our worship services are shaped by the liturgical tradition of the Christian church. Holy Communion is celebrated at the early services on the 2nd and 4th Sundays and the late service on the 1st and 3rd Sundays. During the season of Easter, Holy Communion is served at all services.  The 5th Sunday is usually a healing service with a time for healing prayers at the altar.

Our early service is shaped around the Evangelical Lutheran Worship hymnal supported by organ and piano. Our late service is adds the use of powerpoint visuals as well as guitar and drums and music leaders.

When you worship, you’ll be asked to give us a little information about yourself on our “Fellowship Pad,” a register of all worshipers. We’d love to know you were with us. And please introduce yourself to our pastor and others.

Children are always welcome in our worship services. We have a message just for the children at every service. Activity bags near the main doors to the sanctuary are filled with books, coloring pages, and crayons, to keep children occupied during worship.

However, if your child is disturbing you or others, we have a nursery (for children through age 5), where you may leave your child in the care of a paid nursery attendant.  The nursery is also available for parents if they wish to stay with their small children who need a break from the service. This room features a live feed of the service.

After the early service, you are invited to visit with others for coffee and casual conversation in our Welcome Center. From September to June, you might join in our adult class at 10:00 a.m while your children gather with the Sunday School.

While having a cup of coffee, stop by the information table where there a booklelts, brochures, and information on ways to serve.

We look forward to seeing you!
